Men's Sturmanskie 'First in Space' wristwatches. Heritage SW200-3815213. Limited edition — 999 pieces. On April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin entered the history books as the first man in space. On that day, he wore a watch on his wrist specifically designed for space missions. Since then, the Sturmanskie brand has been the official supplier of watches for Soviet, and now Russian, cosmonauts. Round steel case. The dial with large Arabic numeral markers is protected by a durable sapphire crystal. Sword-shaped hands with SuperLuminova luminescent coating, which glows in the dark after brief exposure to light. Fluted crown. Screw-down steel case back. It features an engraving of a Soviet spacecraft and the inscription 'First watch in space. April 12, 1961'. Leather strap with a classic buckle.
