Tissot was founded in 1853 in Le Locle, in the Swiss Jura, by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Émile.

In 1999 the brand introduced the T-Touch, one of the first watches with a touch-sensitive glass. Today Tissot offers Swiss-made quartz and automatic watches across a wide price range.
