Polar was founded in 1977 in Kempele, Finland.

Polar is known for developing the world’s first wireless heart rate monitor. Its range includes sports watches for endurance training, heart rate monitors, fitness trackers and activity trackers. In 2015, it introduced the A360, its first heart rate monitor with optical measurement at the wrist.
